Hello all,
i am Earthmover,a little about myself first,
i live here in Ireland and am a very keen hunter,i have been hunting since as long as i can remember, started off with a few ferrets and then moved on and got a couple of terriers just for the cover,at that time it was great having terriers but when they would move rabbits out into the open they haden't a hope of catching them,so then it was a time for my first lurcher,so i invested in a rangy collie x greyhound,a demon for catching daytime rabbits and for marking borrows, then i met up with lurcher and terrier men and this started me off into the lurcher and terrier world,i am into hunting for the last thirty years and i have to say i love it and look forward to the next thirty years,i have bred various breeds of lurcher and longdogs, some good and some not so good,i think the worse longdog i ever bred was the suluki x greyhound,a running machine and the only problem i had with them was that they were brain dead, the best were the collie and terrier cross,es,at the moment i only have one lurcher ,she is lurcher to lurcher breeding, don't ask me whats in her as i can only say that there is everything in her,a good lamping bitch in her day, getting on in her life at nine years of age,i also have a greyhound bitch which at the moment i am breeding her with a wheaton x greyhound first cross, this dog is only bred for fox and deer,a well made dog, great coat great feet and plenty of fire in him,so hopefully he will pass some of this on to his pups,i also keep a few terriers, for the cover and the occasional fox,the terriers are first cross lakeland russell and a first cross patterdale russell,i used to have patterdales and fells but i found that these dogs were hospital cases and i find that the half bred has a bit more brain than the full bred, well i hope i haven't bored you all and i am looking forward to reading and hopefully help with this great site.........thanks |
